Early treatment or Phase 1 or Preventative treatment to correct a constricted upper arch and severe crowding. Early treatment is indicated for some pre-adolescents that have functional problems. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have an evaluation by age 7 to determine if early treatment is indicated.
